Taz Haradasa
Taz is a junior barrister at Thorndon Chambers. She assists barristers at Thorndon Chambers with legal research, drafting pleadings and submissions, reviewing evidence, and court appearances.
Before joining Thorndon Chambers, Taz clerked for Justice Ellen France in the Supreme Court from 2020 to early 2022. During her clerkship, she worked on a wide variety of civil and criminal appeals, in addition to leave applications, jurisdictional issues and extra-judicial work. Taz thoroughly enjoys the process of legal problem solving and working across a diverse range of legal areas. She has a particular interest in contract, tort and public law.
Taz graduated from Victoria University of Wellington (VuW) with an LLB(Hons) (first class). She was admitted to the Bar in 2020. At VuW, she received the Victoria Medal for Academic Excellence and Chapman Tripp Prize for graduating as the top LLB and LLB(Hons) student. Her fourth year LLB(Hons) dissertation was awarded the prize for the best student work. While at VuW and then again in 2021 when a judge’s clerk, Taz was the head tutor for the law of torts. She has also previously completed clerkships at top commercial law firms and the Law Commission.
Taz is an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about Liverpool FC and all things cricket, tennis and rugby.
